The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have pressed up the price of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has actually come into sharp focus.
In an area that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one organization is making the most of the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing successful too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
